Repairing a Wood Finish Run

You tried to wipe off the all excess finish before letting it dry but the next day you find a run. It happens. One option is to leave it if its not obvious. If its in a location you cannot live with, try carefully slicing the run off with a razor blade and then sand it out. This will allow more even sanding with less damage to the area surrounding the run so it will blend in better. Applying a fresh finish to your wood furniture will help preserve it. Maybe you prefer a different color. Best of all, you can take pride in a like-new piece of furniture for only a few dollars and some time. For some, sanding and finishing furniture can give that same soul soothing feeling you get when simmering a pasta sauce.
