Electicity is one of the few things that gets more expensive when you buy more. Check your electric bill and you might find tiered rates that get more expensive. Often, tier one or even tier two are very inexpensive and maybe less expensive than solar. Depending on your local rates and price increases for each tier, many buy just enough solar to replace the most expensive tiers. Compare the cost per watt of energy for solar to the cost per watt for each tier of your usage. Also consider changes in your usage over the long term. Maybe you plan to have kids or your kids will be going off to college.
