Stud Finder Double Check: Pound a Needle in the Wall

Humble Abode ® —  January 11, 2010 — Leave a comment

When drilling, screwing or nailing to a wall, it’s always best to find solid wood. If you are not quite sure you are lined up with a stud, pound a needle into the wall first. If you miss, damage to the sheet rock wall is minimized to a pin hole. If you hit solid wood, remove by pulling straight out with a pliers and continue on with your project. Sometimes stud finders can be a little vague and this can be a good way to double check.
