Where’s the Waiter Jack?

The guests have started to arrive. Dinner preparation is well under way and it’s time to open that bottle of wine that’s been saved for a special occasion. The bottle has been dusted off, the foil has been removed but where’s the waiter jack? Or the Ah-So bottle opener? Or the plain old corkscrew that’s been around forever that no one ever used because it was too darn difficult? Have you ever experienced that moment? I have. Panic set in, a sharp knife came out and the result was an unfortunate mess with a cork in tatters in the wine. If I had only known about a sure fire way to open a bottle of wine.

Remain cool as a cucumber next time the bottle opener can’t be found and just grab a shoe!
